UAS For The Warfighter
Teaching the Guard to Fly Smarter: Inside “UAS for the Warfighter”
In late September, Soldiers from the 77th Combat Aviation Brigade, Arkansas Army National Guard spent four days learning to put small drones to work in the RXR course sUAS for the Warfighter. RXR Worldwide developed the course in support of Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, AR. Planners, remote pilots in command and leaders learned employ small, unmanned aircraft systems with legal authorization, safe flight planning and effective integration into combat or in a domestic emergency response. Students work through flight preparation, mission planning, airspace integration, and contingencies. Students received hands on field maintenance training and a dynamic practical exercise. The Capstone event, a battalion tactical scenario, challenged response teams to integrate into a warfighting maneuver concept.
